Service Description

Use of alcohol and drugs often includes cultural imagery and symbols of issues that can be expressed and explored in art therapy. Substance abuse masks feelings of anger, pain, and loneliness. Art provides a way to release these feelings. Here we challenge symptoms and ideas stemming from any specific addiction you may be struggling with. The visual medium of art provides an avenue for symbolic and metaphoric expression that can lead to a deeper understanding of personality, experiences, concerns, interests, and other critically important facets of your individual make-up. Through this session you will be guided to reconcile with emotional conflicts and expand your self-awareness to develop a wellness action recovery plan and self-care toolkit.
